Our Client is a leading national supplier of fire safety, security and electrical services for the Social Housing sector.
You will be expected to:
1. Service, maintain and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) and emergency lighting systems, Nurse Call, and Access Control in accordance with the relevant British Standards.
2. Correctly complete engineer service reports.
3. Report deficiencies or deviations in systems.
4. Report on and maintain emergency lighting systems and other associated equipment, such as fire extinguishers and AOVs.
5. Conduct regular van stock checks and liaise with the Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement Department to keep replenished and appropriately stocked.
6. Have a Health and Safety mindset, looking at possible risks associated with the role and reporting any issues promptly to support the ongoing safety of self and others.
7. Complete a first-time fix where possible.
The ideal candidate for a Fire Alarm Engineer will have:
1. A flexible approach to work with a minimum of 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, with opportunities to earn significantly more through weekends and participation in an out of hours call out rota.
2. A full UK Driving License.
3. Previous Fire Alarm Experience and knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
4. FIA training (or equivalent required) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals.
5. Understanding of BS5839, in particular part one and part six.
6. A good level of IT literacy.
7. An understanding of Health and Safety Regulations within the workplace.
