About the Role: The school is seeking a passionate and qualified English Language Acquisition Teacher to join their thriving community. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting second language learners across all levels and abilities. You will have an excellent understanding of language acquisition and be confident in delivering engaging and effective lessons to individuals and groups. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver the IB MYP and IB DP English Language Acquisition curriculum to students in Years 7 to 13. Develop and deliver a school-based English Language Development (ELD) programme to students in Years 7 to 9. Prepare and mark a range of assessments following IB protocols. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those for whom English is not their first language. Utilize innovative teaching strategies and technology to promote English language and culture. Collaborate with colleagues to identify and develop interdisciplinary links. Contribute to the school's admissions process as required. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in language teaching. Qualifications and Experience: Degree or equivalent qualification Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent EAL, ELD, ESL, or TESOL qualification or relevant experience Experience with the International Baccalaureate curriculum is highly desirable Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and ICT skills Enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to student wellbeing Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive school community A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people The school offers a supportive and stimulating working environment with opportunities for professional development.
