Prospero Teaching are seeking an experienced and dedicated Year 5 Primary School Teacher to join a lovely, welcoming and inclusive school in Southampton (SO15). The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Year 5/6, managing complex behaviour, and supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on our students’ learning and development.
As a Primary School Teacher, you will:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to Year 5 students.
* Manage complex behaviour effectively, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Support students with SEND, implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching methods as needed.
* Build strong relationships with pupils, fostering a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
* Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing regular feedback and reports.

* Strong classroom management skills, particularly in managing complex behaviour.
* Experienced in working with students with SEND.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

Hours – Standard working hours 8.30am-3.30pm (times may vary).
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Proven experience teaching Year 5/6 students.

* Hold right to work in the UK.
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
* Provide references upon request.
* Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this).
