Core Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out Goods Inward inspection for all component parts entering the company, ensuring compliance to design specification and contractual requirements.
2. Identifying, recording and highlighting any non-conformances to specification requirements.
3. Reviewing all external inspection reports and certification supplied with delivered products to ensure they have been completed to the required standard and that they are fully compliant with the relevant specification requirements.
4. Producing and maintaining accurate inspection records and exploring ways to reduce the goods inwards inspection frequency by identifying positive compliance trends.
5. Ensuring all inspection equipment is maintained, calibrated and stored in the correct manner.
6. Working with Quality, Production and Engineering to determine the most practicable and efficient goods inwards inspection criteria and methods.
7. Supporting in the identification of capability of the goods inwards inspection equipment.
8. Maintaining the quarantine area.
9. Providing statistical information to establish goods inwards inspection KPIs.
10. Communicating effectively with internal and external customers.
What we’re looking for:
As well as the successful completion of a formal technical engineering or craft apprenticeship, you should be fully computer literate, with previous use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience of using MRP, ERP, CAQ systems (such as SAP or Babtec). You should be competent in measuring mechanical and electrical components to drawings and specifications using visual inspection methods, verniers, micrometres and bore-micrometres. Working to ISO9001, 140001 & 45001 or equivalent standards, you should have experience in completing first article inspection, line inspection and final inspection, with the ability to compile reports and the ability to read and understand engineering tolerances and drawings. Experience within a goods inwards inspection department, knowledge of safe methods of load slinging and transfer, familiarity with vehicle sub systems and previous use of a FARO measuring arm is advantageous.
