We are seeking an Academic Administrator to join our Christchurch office. This role is essential in ensuring smooth campus operations, providing high-level administrative support, and enhancing the student experience. Job Description
The opportunity
As an Academic Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day administration, supporting learners and tutors, and ensuring the efficient coordination of resources. You’ll be the go-to person for campus administration, customer support, and operational tasks that keep our learning environment running effectively.
What you'll be doing
1. Campus administration & customer support – Be the first point of contact for learners, staff, and external stakeholders, handling inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
2. Class scheduling & coordination – Work closely with the Campus Delivery Manager and Learning Support teams to prepare class schedules, track attendance, and ensure compliance with academic requirements.
3. Exam & course management – Oversee the administration of literacy and numeracy assessments, end-of-term tests, and capstone exams.
4. Student support & academic monitoring – Assist in tracking student progress, notifying learners and stakeholders of any missing units or required actions.
5. Campus operations & facility management – Manage site utilities, supplies, maintenance, and vendor coordination to ensure a smooth operational environment.
6. Industry courses administration – Support industry course enrolments, liaise with registrants, and assist in scheduling additional courses.
Desired Skills and Experience
What you’ll bring
1. Proven experience in office or site administration, ideally in an educational setting.
2. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, tutors, and external partners.
4. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Student Management Systems (SAMS) is advantageous.
5. A proactive and problem-solving mindset, capable of handling operational challenges and improving processes.
