An exciting opportunity has arisen to become an Assistant Headteacher at this “flagship” school where a strong sense of community adds value to the “Education of All”, and where staff say they “are proud to work here” (Ofsted 2023).
St Wilfrid’s is an “Outstanding Catholic School” where “staff are excellent role models” and where students say that the school “feels like a family where people care for each other” (Catholic Schools Inspection 2024).
If you want to work in a school where everyone is valued and supported to be the best they can be (both students and staff), then this is the school for you. Please click on the following link or copy to your browser to get a flavour of St Wilfrid’s here. As you will see from the link, we have great facilities, great staff, and above all, great students!
This is a school that wants to be the very best it can be. Do you want to be part of that?
The successful candidate will be first and foremost, an excellent teacher with a commitment to inclusive education and a desire to drive improvement in the development of Learning & Teaching and in ITT/ECT development as well as across the school in general. You do not need to be a Catholic to work here; indeed many of our staff are not, but a willingness to embrace the ethos of the school is expected.
The strength of community at St Wilfrid’s is a strong one based upon mutual respect. The staff work incredibly hard and are prepared to go the extra mile for the students in their charge. Our students are amazing and they contribute enormously to making the school such a welcoming and productive place. Our most recent Catholic School Inspection Report (October 2024) and our Ofsted Report (March 2023) certainly reinforce this aspect of school life. All potential applicants are invited and encouraged to arrange a visit – we firmly believe you won’t be disappointed!
St Wilfrid's Catholic School reserves the right to review applications, interview, and appoint before the close date, so please make sure your applications are sent as soon as possible. Candidates may be invited for interview upon receipt of their application – please do not wait for the closing date.
Application by form downloadable from our website www.stwilfrids.com to include a maximum of 2 pages of supporting statement contained within the form.
Please return your completed application to Ms S Minnis, Headteacher’s PA at recruitment@stwilfrids.com.
Closing Date: 09:00hrs 22 April 2025
