About the role It is an exciting time for the grounds maintenance service following a restructuring of the work resulting in all grounds maintenance activities being delivered in house. Responsible for a team of 10 including 3 chargehands you will be responsible for the planning, development and delivery for the new service and will be operating with a degree of autonomy. The successful applicant will be working in a fast-paced and busy environment. You will play a key role in delivering one of the most visible services that we provide to tenants in the District. The successful applicant will work closely with colleagues from different teams across the council and will be responsible for delivering the service in line with the service level agreement agreed with the Housing department. Who we’re looking for We’d love to hear from you if you: Are well organised and can remain calm, focused and professional when under pressure. Demonstrable experience in the grounds maintenance sector. A good working of health and safety, safe working practices and experience of producing risk assessments. Have excellent customer service skills and can build and maintain relationships, comfortable talking with colleagues at all levels. Are excited by the opportunity to develop a service that delivers. Have good written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail. Know how to maintain databases, manage cases like complaints and analyse information. Are confident to challenge information provided to you as part of your role and to carry out further investigations into matters.
