Ambulance Care Assistant Location: Based at Croft House, Western Avenue, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE4 8SR Contract type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract Hours: 24 hours and 36 hours per week available Salary: £22,464 per annum pro rata based on 36 hours per week Driving: Full UK Driving Licence required, to drive a manual gearbox British Red Cross vehicle. A Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (FREC3) is advantageous but not essential as full training will be given. 12 hour shifts including unsocial hours, bank holidays, evenings and weekends as required. A day in the life of an Ambulance Care Assistant You will work as part of a team responsible for providing patient transport in a safe, comfortable, and sympathetic manner, observing road and driving conditions at all times. The role involves driving and assisting as part of a crew, patients with different requirements based on their mobility classification. Your warm, caring nature and positive attitude will bring comfort to patients. You’ll be sensitive when working with vulnerable people and have no trouble going the extra mile to make them feel comfortable, safe and cared for. Your previous customer service experience, as well as understanding and awareness of the differing physical needs of our service users and a genuine interest in their well-being; will help people in your local community. Our services are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we apply the same standards to our service delivery across the whole of the UK.
