Technical Transformation Programme Manager / L&D Architect

Since April 2022, Calex UK have been the core supplier of the Learning & Development teams at the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre. Since that point, we have focused heavily on the operational excellence of the function, along with developing our aspirations for the future strategic approach. One of the outputs from our transformation workshops is the creation of a dedicated Technical Transformation Programme (TTP) to create and launch a blended learning approach for technical training.
To support this high-profile programme of work, we are looking for an experienced individual to Manage the Project and Lead the Content Design & Development over a 10-month duration.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and be accountable for the Governance, Technical Pathway Analysis, Comms & Engagement, LMS Integration, Blended Content Development and Launch/Rollout workstreams.
* Responsible for overall programme governance.
* Responsible for programme reporting and stakeholder updates.
* Design, develop and implement standards and policies to standardise ways of working.
* Ensure the programme is delivered on time, within budget, to scope and to a high standard.
* Lead the design, development, and transformation of learning pathways, ensuring the final product aligns with the strategic goals of the TTP.
* Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure alignment between the digital learning content, the TTPs objectives and overall TTP delivery.
* Manage the creation of final learning assets, ensuring they are of the highest quality and ready for deployment.
* Ensure continuous improvement in learning content based on feedback and data.
* Design the overall learning architecture, ensuring it supports a seamless and effective blended learning experience.
* Oversee the transition to the blended learning strategy.
* Develop and document the roadmap.
* Review the current curriculum, rationalise and document the sequence in which it will be digitalised.
* Oversee the development and integration of KSB frameworks and learning content into the LMS.
* Ensure content is structured and aligned to meet both technical and learner needs.
* Lead the development of learning pathways, ensuring that they are scalable and adaptable to evolving business requirements.
* Ensure that all team members uphold VWGs standards throughout each programmes development and execution.

* Ability to lead and drive learning transformation initiatives.
2. Programme Management
* Experienced project manager including; managing cross functional teams and stakeholders, ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines, knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation, strong organisational, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
3. Leadership
* Proven track record of leading teams and managing cross-functional projects.
* Ability to guide and mentor team members and foster a positive work environment.
* Ability to drive results through effective leadership practices.
4. Learning Architecture
* Expertise in designing scalable, sustainable learning that will align with our TTP goals.
* Extensive understanding of learning theories, instructional design models and best practices.
* Experience with integrating various learning technologies, tools, and platforms to create cohesive learning experiences.
* Strong analytical skills.
5. Instructional Design
* Experienced in managing and overseeing creation of engaging and effective learning.
* Expertise in learning design models.
6. Automotive Technical Training Knowledge
* Extensive understanding of automotive technical training content and delivery methods.
7. Content Strategy
* Ability to create and implement a comprehensive learning architecture strategy that integrates multiple learning modalities aligning to the TTPs goals and learner needs.
8. LMS Integration
* Knowledge of integrating blended learning solutions into Learning Management Systems (LMS).
9. Collaboration
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
10. Risk Management
* Demonstrable experience in identifying, assessing and mitigating project risks and implementing proactive risk management strategies.
11. Strategic Thinking
* Ability to think critically and to develop commercially focused solutions.

Salary & Benefits
Starting from Feb / March 2025. Fixed term until 19 Dec 2025.
Weekly rate equivalent up to £1800, based on a 40-hour working week.
20 day (max) time out of the business during the project period.
Pre-employment Checks
You will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to any work commencing. All content and intellectual property created as part of this project will become the property of Volkswagen Group UK Ltd.
Employment
The successful candidate will be engaged on a full time, fixed term associate basis up until 19 December 2025, invoicing monthly for their work.
Place of Work
VWG National Learning Centre, Wymbush, Milton Keynes.
We currently operate hybrid working with at least 60% of time in the National Learning Centre with the opportunity to work up to 40% remotely. Time spent in the office may change.
There will also be times when it may be necessary to work from alternative locations, e.g. VWG facilities and retailers, and other sites as necessary to perform the role.
