Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a diverse portfolio of work from our capital maintenance and enhancement investment programmes.
The position will be located in the southern area of Wessex Water's operational region, with a focus on Dorset, and requires flexibility to work in other areas including Somerset, Wiltshire, and Hampshire.
What you'll do
YTL Construction is responsible for the delivery of an annual programme of water treatment, wastewater and network projects across our region.
With a number of direct reports, your role as the Project Manager will see you inherit the management of a multi-disciplinary project delivery team, including design consultants, internal civils and mechanical and electrical resources, as well as the external supply chain and stakeholders.
You will be managing the delivery of the project to achieve the required outputs for safety, the environment, time, quality and cost. You'll also be doing this while attaining the high standards of work we are renowned for.
You'll be negotiating contracts to deliver the best value across the business to achieve the most cost-effective and sustainable solutions possible while managing and balancing risk throughout.
You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with safety and quality procedures, while also considering legal, contractual and governance obligations and budgetary boundaries.
What you'll need
To fulfil the role of the Project Manager, you'll need a working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Workplace (Health and Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, RIDDOR Regulations 1995, and CDM Regulations 2015.
You will also have the necessary health and safety training, including Safe Systems of Work, bespoke CDM training, CITB 5 Day, and IOSH or NEBOSH.
Complementing your technical skills, your well-honed organisational and decision-making skills will enable you to drive the project forward.
You'll be a positive and effective people manager, who is able to motivate your team to achieve project outcomes.
