Fife Council are seeking an ambitious and hard-working individual to appoint to a new Corporate Procurement Officer role within Procurement. The Corporate Procurement Officer may work across multiple Category areas, although the preference is to appoint the successful candidate into an I.T. Procurement role.
The postholder will primarily support the Category Managers to achieve the aims of the Procurement & Commercial Strategy delivered through Category Strategies, as well as provide Procurement support to the Digital Programme Board, supporting the objective of potential digital transformation across the organisation.
The postholder will have a proactive approach and be skilled in developing and maintaining effective business relationships. Additionally, will have excellent analytical skills, understanding key cost drivers to help and influence client services receive Best Value and ensure contracts are reflective of policy and best practice.
The Person
You will have:
1. Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
2. Strong stakeholder engagement skills including influencing and negotiation
3. Strong team player who is proactive and can take ownership
4. Skilled in information analysis and data presentation
5. The ability to apply effective time management and organisational skills to manage workload
6. Relevant experience in a comparable organisation (we are open to considering relevant experience in a procurement remit and/or technical in relation to our wide-ranging category activity).
7. A formal procurement qualification (i.e. CIPS) or be willing to work towards this.
