Care Assistant for a young person P/T £13.09/hr in Morpeth - FTE - £25.5k Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: 6730bff8 To provide support for a 7-year-old female child who has Down’s Syndrome. We are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Support Worker to provide support for this little girl who in addition to Down’s Syndrome has a learning disability. She will require constant 1:1 support and supervision to ensure her safety and to keep her clean, fed and hydrated. When at home and out in the community, she has no danger awareness. She has hypermobile joints, hypotonia of her muscles and subluxation patella and these conditions are caused by having Down’s Syndrome. The hypermobile joints and hypotonia cause her problems with mobility and she is unable to walk very far because of this and has a pushchair when needed. The learning disability impacts on her fine motor skills, and she needs support with dressing and her personal care. When eating a meal there is a high risk of her choking on food as it can get stuck in her throat and requires immediate support and First Aid to clear it. First Aid training will be provided. She is a happy 7-year-old who loves to dance, watch her iPad, role play, colour-in, cookery, messy pay and sensory rooms. Hours 4 hours per week on Monday, Tuesday or Friday.
