Job Description
Emotional and Mental Health Support
Are you an individual who is passionate about supporting children with their mental health needs?
If so…
A rewarding position has become available for an Emotional and Mental Health Support Worker to work in a school in Maidenhead. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience while making a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
These students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, and various other mood disorders. They need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow.
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will be directly involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health.
Your day-to-day duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher while providing 1:1 support for the SEN students. You will also help run engaging lessons to ensure the classroom is an exciting place. Behavioral management may also be required.
The role would suit someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs. This is a great opportunity for aspiring psychologists, social workers, therapists, and counselors.
Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Those with a background in sports, art, or drama will also have an advantage. Graduates in a relevant field will also be considered.
