Job Description
Salary: 40,750 - c.£50,950 pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits.

As a Supply Chain Manager at HS2 you will deliver the development, implementation and communication of supply chain activities, working collaboratively with appointed tier 1 contractors and partners.
About the role:
1. Manage their respective SCM portfolio, working collaboratively with appointed tier 1 contractors.
2. Develop and implement a co-ordinated supply chain engagement strategy.
3. Undertake capability and capacity analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks.
4. Promote a culture of building excellent supply chain relationships.
5. Lead 'deep dive' supply chain analyses relating to critical categories of spend.
6. Lead meetings, workshops and engagement events required to support SCM.
7. Support with timely and accurate reporting in accordance with SCM programme governance.
8. Work with other members of the Procurement & Supply Chain Directorate team.

Skills:
1. Analytical, commercial and negotiating skills.
2. Ability to produce and present documents and reports.
3. Stakeholder management skills.
4. Ability to effectively engage with both awarded and potential supply chain.
5. Project management skills.
6. Ability to use Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or equivalent.
7. Ability to manage meeting calendars and coordinating workshops/events.
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of government initiatives, policies and best practice approaches relevant to SCM.
2. Understanding of the commercial and contract delivery lifecycle.
3. Understanding of systems and reporting applications.
4. Knowledge of applicable UK procurement legislation.
5. Knowledge of different procurement routes.
6. Understanding of project scheduling, planning and project management approaches and techniques.
Type of experience:
1. Experience of complex projects and analysing sector developments.
2. Experience of developing and implementing a supplier or stakeholder engagement programme.
3. Experience of establishing and leading projects end-to-end.
