Job Title: Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) Salary: £34,000 per annum Contract and Hours: Full Time, Permanent Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Friday 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Location: Chester-le-Street, Co. Durham (with National Travel Required) Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to join our clients innovative and forward-thinking team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our pre-employment training and work-based learning programmes, contributing to our organisation’s commitment to high standards and learner success. This position is primarily office-based at their Chester-le-Street head office; however, national travel will be required to support, visit, and oversee courses. As an IQA, you will oversee quality assurance processes, support tutors, promote best practices, and ensure compliance with funding and awarding body requirements. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance and Improvement 1. Drive quality improvement plans to achieve high success rates. 2. Manage and drive the quality assurance process to ensure compliance with internal and external standards. 3. Conduct standardisation activities and monitor learning programme delivery. 4. Carry out effective sampling and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency. 5. Plan and prepare for External Quality Assurer (EQA) visits, ensuring readiness and compliance. Support for Tutors and Learners 1. Provide support and guidance to tutors on quality assurance and delivery standards. 2. Conduct regular field-based learning walks of tutors to ensure effective programme delivery. 3. Promote safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, and learner welfare across the organisation. Compliance and Reporting 1. Manage accurate and effective completion of all documentation to meet contractual requirements. 2. Produce timely and accurate reports on quality assurance and learner progress to the Quality Manager. 3. Support self-assessment processes and development plans to align with organisational goals. Other Key Duties 1. Quality assure assessments for Level 2 qualifications, including Functional Skills. 2. Plan, deliver, and attend communication and standardisation meetings. 3. Represent the organisation during EQA visits and provide evidence to meet awarding body requirements. Essential/Desirable Criteria: Essential Qualifications and Experience IQA Qualification (IQA/V1/D33/D34 or equivalent). Assessing Qualification (A1/D32 or equivalent). Teaching Qualification (PTLLS, AET, or equivalent). Proven experience in a similar IQA role. Strong knowledge of pre-employability courses and Functional Skills delivery. Understanding of funding requirements and awarding organisation standards. Effective communication, planning, organisational, and multitasking skills. Technical Competencies IT literate with experience using MS Office and CRM systems. Proven line management and team leadership skills. Attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Desirable Attributes Occupational competence within relevant sectors. Knowledge of funding and awarding organisation requirements. Ability to work across all levels and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Additional Requirements Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle (essential). Flexibility to travel nationally as required
