As a Workday Extend Architect (Consultant) in Kainos, you'll lead a team of specialist extend consultants on a project, ensuring the successful delivery of extend solutions for the cloud-based Workday system. As a knowledgeable expert in Extend, you will work closely with customers to lead the Workday Extend project, scope, gather requirements, document, implement, deploy, and support applications using the Workday Extend platform toolset. You'll build strong relationships with our customers to understand their requirements, ensuring that the solution is aligned to their needs, fit for purpose, and commercially viable. You'll be a key contributor to guiding, developing, and educating others within the Workday practice on the area of Extend.
Minimum (Essential) Requirements:
1. Workday Extend and Integrations certification
2. Proficiency with XML, REST, SOAP, JSON, and knowledge in an object-oriented programming language (preferably J2EE)
3. Experience in designing applications to solve business and technical problems
4. Good understanding of cloud computing, web services, and associated challenges
5. Excellent customer focus, able to assess customer needs, build relationships, and manage customer expectations
6. Strong communicator, able to communicate with customers and colleagues with impact, credibility, and empathy
7. Sound ability to formally present to senior client audiences
8. Strong commercial awareness and full understanding of project and business dynamics
9. Broad business and technology understanding and a good awareness of industry trends in both HR and HR technology
10. Ability to work to tight deadlines and make sensible decisions under pressure
Desirable:
1. Workday HCM Certified, or experience with other similar HCM/ERP systems
2. Proficiency in other middleware/application development platforms
3. Experience in managing, mentoring, and developing teams
People Management:
Your role may or may not involve managing people. Where you do have direct reports, your responsibilities may include:
1. Agreeing, setting, and reviewing your and your team's goals aligned to Kainos and Workday practice
2. Providing support so that your and your team's goals can be achieved
3. Reviewing and refining goals for relevance and to keep performance on track
4. Conducting 1:1 monthly and/or project completion feedback meetings
5. Requesting and providing regular feedback in Workday
6. Completing End of Year reviews and agreeing the outcomes for the year
7. Identifying training to support your and your team's development
8. Pursuing and supporting your and your team members' career paths and progression
9. Reviewing weekly workload forecasting (staff allocations and timesheet checks) and utilization
10. Actively being involved in recruitment/interviews
11. Reviewing attrition and retention metrics
