Job Details
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Officer to join the Community Action Team. Working across Huntingdonshire, you will respond to community concerns in relation to Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and Environmental Crime to ensure that the district remains a safe place to live, work, and visit.
You will be delivering prevention and intervention actions within the community. The role also monitors and enforces the Dog control sanctions across the district, including stray dogs.
As a Community Action Team Officer, you will be required to work both alone as well as in partnership with both internal and external services, implementing and taking an active lead in cases where HDC is identified as the appropriate lead organisation.
Within the role, you will be required to keep up to date with legislation, case law, and policy. Part of the role is to collate evidence, build cases, and prosecution files to present in Court.
Do you have:
1. Enthusiasm for problem solving and utilising the tools and powers available to them
2. An understanding of the impact of Anti-Social Behaviour and Environmental Crime
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation and negotiation
4. A customer focus and the ability to encourage feedback from the community
5. The ability to remain calm, polite, and professional in confrontational situations
6. The ability to work in partnership to deliver an agreed outcome.

You will need to be able to work flexibly in line with the needs of the role which may include occasional evening and weekend working including incident support.
The role requires candidates to possess a full driving licence.
This is a Permanent post working 37 hours per week.
We will provide comprehensive and ongoing training, as well as support from an experienced team.
An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. Huntingdonshire District Council does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.
