We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Locum Consultant in General Medicine with expertise across multiple specialties: Acute Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Stroke Medicine, Rheumatology, and Geriatrics for NHS trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care as part of our multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
* Provide consultant-level care in the relevant specialty, ensuring comprehensive diagnosis and management.
* Take responsibility for acute medical admissions, inpatient ward rounds, and outpatient clinics.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care for patients in the specialties of Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Stroke, Rheumatology, and Geriatrics.
* Participate in the on-call rota, ensuring timely and effective emergency care.
Teaching and Training:
* Supervise and mentor junior doctors, medical students, and allied health professionals.
* Deliver teaching sessions as part of the Trust’s education programs.
Service Development:
* Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines.
* Support service improvements and participate in clinical governance activities.
Research and Innovation:
* Participate in clinical research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Encourage innovative approaches to patient care and service delivery.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
* CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or equivalent in General Internal Medicine and/or one of the listed specialties (Acute Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Stroke Medicine, Rheumatology, or Geriatrics).
* Inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of interview.
* Demonstrable experience in the management of patients across the listed specialties.
* Commitment to clinical teaching and service development.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
* Additional subspecialty expertise in one or more of the following: Respiratory Medicine, Stroke Medicine, Rheumatology, or Geriatrics.
* Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
* Evidence of research and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Pay: £90.69-£139.19 per hour
