New Horizons is a Day Service committed to providing a high standard of care without taking away independence, we promote equality, choice, independence, empowerment, and personal development. We work with the individual to plan person centred activities or personal goals.
We run a 5-day service at this time Monday to Friday and provide a safe environment where people can regain their confidence and make new friends. At the centre we have a craft room, gym, lounge, woodwork room and sports area, we also have two adapted service buses that enable us to take individuals or groups out into the community to places of their choice.

About the role:
Pay Details: Grade 6 (F) SCP 14-19, £28,624- £31,067
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: full time 37 hours. Monday – Thursday 8.30am to 5pm Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.

Description:
You will work with other DSO’s supervising nominated members of a small team, Updating sickness records and leave using vale of Glamorgan policies and procedures. Maintain all necessary records for staff and people attending the service while maintaining the Vale of Glamorgan data protection policies and procedures. Arrange activities for service users, update personal records and risk assessments for people attending the service and staff. Undertake all mandatory training and other training identified by your line supervisor or team manager.
About you:
• Experience of collaborating with people with different disabilities and an awareness of their needs.
• Experience of supervising and supporting staff members.
• Good listening, communication, and people Skills.
• Ability to interact positively with others at all levels.
• Willing to undertake any further training identified by your supervisor or manager.
• Reliable, flexible, and good timekeeping.
• The ability to work on your own initiative and within a team.
• A commitment to improving services.
• Good with Computer programs.
• Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.
