University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279)
This is an exciting time to join the IT department at UHSussex. The Trust has recently embarked on a large transformation programme to deliver an Electronic Patient Record (EPR).
In order for the Trust to be ready for EPR, there are a number of readiness workstreams being established. As part of technical readiness, the Trust is looking to onboard a number of device engineers to provide a proactive service working across locations.
The postholder will ensure environments are ready for EPR. This will involve the fixing and optimisation of the existing digital environments and ensuring blueprints are in place to enable future environments to meet the demands created by the increase in digital activities by UHSussex staff that an EPR will drive.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide comprehensive technical expertise and support to maintain and expand all Trust's IT client device services. The post holder will be expected to assist with all aspects of the day-to-day administration and management of the IT environment as necessary, with particular emphasis on the clinical inpatient wards, ensuring there is support for the clinical services, and blueprinting the wards to ensure standardization across all campuses.
The post holder will have a good breadth and depth of IT knowledge gained through experience as they will be required to work without supervision and understand the complexity of the overall IT infrastructure within their location(s). They are expected to work in partnership with the EPR team to support the adoption of the EPR. There may be a requirement to support other digital transformation projects being delivered by the wider project and programmes function.
The role requires exceptional communication and engagement skills in order to build relationships with various areas. The successful candidates will be required to have strong on-site visibility, be proactive and responsive. They will need to report on the impact they are making with a specific focus on benefits.
