On-site Support Technician On-Site Support Technician Scarborough - North Yorkshire £25,000 - £28,000 Vital York is currently seeking an experienced Technician who is motivated and enthusiastic about technology. The ideal candidate should have a natural flair for technology, a strong willingness to learn and a passion for providing exceptional service to our customers to join an expanding team supporting a School in Scarborough. This role will involve supporting a secondary school where you will be the liaison between your schools and Vital York, ensuring that they are kept informed about the products and services Vital York can provide, and managing customer accounts which will involve maintaining the IT hardware and software across the school sites helping them to improve their ICT provision and enable them to deliver effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions. To be suitable for this role, you should a passionate interest in IT and a solid technical background, as well as being self-driven and enthusiastic about offering exceptional customer service. Being a team player, is it essential you have excellent communication and organisational skills as you need to liaise with the school senior management team on a regular basis. Our ideal candidate should have at least 1-2 years’ experience in working in a previous ICT Technician or 2ndsupport role in the education sector although not essential. You should have the ability to work independently and exhibit a flair for troubleshooting and a proactive attitude towards identifying potential avenues to enhance the services provided by the team. Responsibilities include: To provide ICT technical support to the school. You will ensure a high level of customer service is always maintained in a professional and efficient manner within the agreed timescales and SLA’s. Providing accurate technical solutions to queries and incidents; escalating to managers or other teams as required to meet the agreed SLA targets. To manage and maintain the school’s ICT equipment including overseeing the general health of equipment and devices. Completing replacement hardware when required. Installation, configuration and deployment of equipment. General basis ICT support such as password changes, printer issues and set ups. To manage expectations of the school, keeping them informed and up to date with progress. Proactively monitoring and prioritising IT problems and escalating where necessary. To demonstrate a willingness to work flexibly, sometimes outside of normal core hours, in response to service demands as agreed with the Head Teacher and/Vital York To contribute to the ethos of the school, in all areas of contact and responsibility, in relationships with staff and pupils. To perform such other tasks as may reasonably be required by the Head Teacher or Senior Leadership Team. Skills/Abilities: Ideally an understanding of Windows 10 & 11, wireless networks, Smooth wall, IOS devices, MDM, Google Workspace Experience in working closely with customers and providing excellent customer service Sound technical ability The ability to learn quickly and exercise initiative Effective management of time and workload The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The ability to problem-solve quickly and effectively The role is offered on a 6-month contract and the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.
