Job Description The Role As a Garment Technologist, womenswear, you’ll act as a member of the ASOS Technical team, working closely with the Head of Technical and wider team, as well as getting involved in a number of cross-departmental projects. The role reports into the Head of Technical but works in an autonomous way, so it requires a self-motivator who can take ownership of their responsibilities and lead a team. You will work collaboratively with the Buying, Design, Digital and Fabric teams in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, so it’s essential that you have strong technical experience, combined with great organisational and analytical skills, and the ability to effectively prioritise a busy workload. What you'll be doing Support strategy within dept, contributing towards the business targets and objectives Deliver an optimized E2E development & virtual fitting process within dept and suppliers, supporting speed, reduction in samples and cost savings Build/develop new processes and pioneering/industry leading technologies to support continuous improvement in quality, speed to market and product innovation Deliver new ways of working with Design, buying and suppliers to ensure quality is built into product at very early development stage Review and update the ASOS technical manual to deliver leading quality, make up and construction standard guidelines, Implement supplier Quality performance strategy, ensuring optimised sealing hit rate- leading to improved customer quality perception and reduce customer returns Support the business shift from Quality Control to Quality Assurance for all production stages offering technical guidelines, product specification knowledge and proactive processes within supplier base Execute departmental customer returns strategy to drive reduction in returns rates to support cost savings Drive Technical capabilities within the supplier base to deliver quality, placing the right product in the right factory with right cost and right lead time Implement business initiatives to deliver quality consistency, speed to market and cost savings
