Are you an experienced manager in social care? Are you looking for your next challenge in a very rewarding role? As manager you will oversee a team of staff that support across 2 homes in the beautiful area of Buckinghamshire. Our first home is in Stoke Mandeville and supports three gentlemen who all love being out and about, contributing to their community. The second home is close to the centre of Aylesbury and supports 2 ladies who have recently left school and are building their lives in their first home as adults. You will have the chance to see people who draw on our support learn new skills and become independent people that can participate in making their own choices from shopping, activities and maintaining independent living skills to live a life that makes sense to them. Every day is different. One day you could be supporting individuals at the local Goat Farm feeding and taking care of the animals. The next day catching a bus in to the local area to go swimming, bowling and out for lunch. Once you have built those relationships you soon start to see their different personalities shine through. Andrew loves intense interactions and humming along to his favourite song. Simon makes sure the house is maintained to a high standard. Grace has recently moved in and is learning new skills around her home, this has also included experimenting with new foods to provide a more varied diet. They each have their own gifts, skills and passions that they enjoy sharing and building on. Overseeing 2 homes means you will need to be able to prioritise your time between the two. There will of course be some practical elements such as arranging rotas, completing risk assessments and support plans. You will be an integral part of the management team ensuring the site is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements as well as internal processes, so previous experience in these areas is essential. At MacIntyre we expect managers to lead from the front and therefore some shift work maybe required, across all hours. Valuing friends and family is part of our DNA and it s a privilege to work alongside them, who are great advocates for their children and encourage staff to be as adventurous as possible to give each person every opportunity to live their best life. It s a fun and rewarding place to work, and a great opportunity to make a difference and bring your own skills to a fantastic team. names changed for privacy What we need from you You will have experience of supporting people, with autism and learning disabilities - this is essential to this role, ideally you will have worked in a Supported Living environment.
