Responsibilities of our Materials Controller
You will be responsible for the placement and scheduling of purchase orders for a range of materials, including chemicals, facing, packaging and consumable items used in our manufacturing process and to maintain the correct inventory levels of these materials.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Review Material requirements planning (MRP) system, this includes making communication with Sales teams and Production Planning and tracking project requirements
Communicate and liaise with suppliers on a daily basis, expedite purchase orders, ensuring required delivery times are met.
Identify raw material requirements, raise purchase orders in SAP and distribute to suppliers.
Ensure that PO data and pricing is correct, referring to price lists issued by the business.
Liaise with Freight forwarders and Customs Agents with regards to the arrival and custom clearance of imported raw materials from overseas.
Record and maintain shipping schedule to ensure full visibility of shipping status is available at all times. Schedule deliveries as required, keeping additional storage/demurrage costs to a minimum.
Review and resolve supplier invoices discrepancies.
Attend both internal and external supplier meetings if required.
