* I am seeking candidates who ideally possess a degree-level qualification in a STEM discipline, HND/HNC, or equivalent experience. You should have proven knowledge of Systems Engineering and the Engineering Lifecycle, typically gained from applying subject knowledge in an integrated platform involving safety and/or security-related activities. Experience in working with internal and external stakeholders at high levels of classification, both nationally and internationally, is essential. Direct experience with complex computing solutions in areas like systems management, avionics/IMA-based solutions, systems integration, safety/security, or equivalent complex programs will be advantageous. A willingness to learn and develop pioneering solutions that meet challenging requirements, while achieving performance and regulatory needs, is also desired. Additionally, you should have experience with engineering and business processes, understanding the implications of decisions on time, cost, and quality, and the ability to support timely and accurate performance reporting. Proven interpersonal and influencing skills to build strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders at all levels are crucial.
Responsibilities:
* In this role, I will be focusing on the Onboard Computing Systems Domain. You will support overall system designs for FCAS products and lead various activities as part of a team developing computing architectures and hardware/software design solutions that contribute directly to the FCAS program. Your responsibilities will include interfacing with other parts of the national and international FCAS organization, establishing and strengthening relationships with internal and external customers, industry partners, and suppliers in the UK and abroad, such as Japan and Italy. You will also manage, coach, and develop less experienced team members, while operating in a manner that ensures effective teamwork, collaboration, and engagement across various teams and stakeholders. Demonstrating the ability to represent BAE Systems in meetings, you will work collaboratively to address engineering, schedule, and cost challenges. You will be expected to manage and solve complex problems, balancing business and customer requirements, and influencing Delivery Stream activities to optimize engineering outputs.
