Are you a detail-oriented financial professional looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact? We are seeking a talented Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team at Alderley Park. This is a 12-month fixed term contract with a hybrid working style, allowing you to balance your work between home and office.
About the Role:
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our financial close team, with a core focus on analysis and control processes. You will develop your skills to become a subject matter expert on processes and elements of the ledgers. Your contributions will be vital in achieving the team's vision, purpose, and objectives.
The Financial Close team incorporates a wider range of disciplines across; Policy holder, banking, tax, reinsurance and cost accounting.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Producing, maintaining and reviewing balance sheet control reconciliations, involving oversight and review of accounting flows; interfaces, journal entries, etc.
* Undertake and review complex accounting tasks to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
* Develop a strong understanding of accounting principles and Royal London’s operational processes.
* Drive data planning, sourcing, collection, processing, cleansing, analysing, and reporting.
* Involvement in overall ledger control and review, including leading interactions with a variety of business functions across the group in respect of issue resolution and process design.
* Driving improvements through proposed automation and leveraging finance system capabilities.
* Sharing your expertise as a Subject Matter Expert on relevant processes and coaching other team members.
* Contributing to the team's vision, purpose, and objectives to ensure successful delivery of outcomes.
About You:
* Ideally qualified with experience in change and process improvement.
* Proven track record of delivery with complex reconciliations and data analysis.
* Ability to develop and implement process improvements along with the associated documentation and controls.
* Experienced in leading the articulation and explanation of data analysis to senior stakeholders, including recommendations of activity and improvement.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, Finance systems and a strong Microsoft Office user.
