Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Long-Term) Location: Milton Keynes Salary: £85 - £100 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications) Position Type: Long-Term, Full-Time About the Role: Dunbar Education is seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone who is committed to supporting children with additional needs and making a real impact in their learning and development. Role Overview: As an SEN TA, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities. You will play a key role in helping children overcome barriers to learning, ensuring they have a positive and inclusive educational experience. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN. Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Adapt learning materials to meet students' needs and abilities. Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment to support emotional and social development. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support. Help manage behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques. Support students with personal care if required (depending on the needs of the school and students). Requirements: Previous experience working as an SEN TA or in a special school environment. A strong understanding of SEN, EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), and behaviour management strategies. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Experience with Makaton, PECS, or other communication aids is an advantage. An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
