RM Recruit is working in partnership with our Warwickshire based charity client who are on the lookout for a Finance Manager on a Part Time, permanent basis. The role of Finance Manager is pivotal to the charity whereby you will oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and financial sustainability. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with a passion for the not-for-profit sector. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the charity’s financial activities, including budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and ensuring compliance with charity finance regulations. The role offers hybrid working, providing flexibility while maintaining a hands-on approach to financial management. Main duties include: Overseeing day-to-day financial operations Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly management accounts, financial reports, and cash flow forecasts. Lead the budgeting process, monitoring expenditure and providing financial insights to support decision-making. Maintain financial records in accordance with Charity Commission requirements and relevant financial regulations. Work closely with external auditors and prepare year-end accounts for submission. Ensure financial compliance with charity-specific accounting standards (SORP), HMRC regulations, and funding requirements. Prepare reports for the Board of Trustees, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial matters. Manage grant and funding allocations, ensuring proper financial tracking and reporting to funders. Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate payments and compliance with pension and tax regulations. Manage restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring appropriate allocation and reporting. Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. Work closely with the CEO, and trustees to provide financial advice and strategic support. Support Fundraising teams in preparing financial data for funding applications and grant proposals. Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required. As the ideal candidate, you will possess proven experience as a Finance Manager, preferably in the charity or not-for-profit sector. Strong knowledge of charity finance regulations and financial reporting standards (SORP) is key and eexperience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning is highly sought. You will have the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders and will lead a small team by example. Candidates who are qualified (ACCA/ACMA/CIPFA) are preferred however, those who are QBE or Part Qualified may be considered.
