In Touch Health and Healing is a Community Interest Company based in Chapeltown, Leeds,
providing complementary therapies and exercise classes for the benefit of the community.
Our latest initiative, the SWELL Project (Supporting Wellbeing, Enabling Lives Locally),
will offer free and donations-based treatments to people with financial and social barriers
to access, including asylum seekers, older adults, and local residents.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced massage therapist to join this exciting new
project and deliver high-quality treatments within the community.
Contract Length: 12 months (starting April 2025)
Working Hours: 5 clients per week (5 hours total), during Leeds school term time – 39 weeks per year
Location: Primarily at our treatment room at Chapeltown Community Nursery, with one client per week seen at an alternative site in Chapeltown or Harehills
Payment: £25 per hour (total £4,875 for 195 hours of clinic time per year)
Responsibilities:
1. Provide professional massage therapy services to a diverse range of clients
2. Manage client appointments, including scheduling, confirming bookings 48 hours in advance, and handling client communications after initial triaging
3. Maintain accurate consultation records and complete relevant project paperwork
4. Ensure donations are recorded accurately and passed on to the Project Manager
5. Work collaboratively with the management team to uphold the quality and impact of the project
Minimum Requirements:
1. Fully qualified and insured with a minimum of two years experience as a massage therapist
2. Registered self-employed
3. Regularly engage in CPD training to maintain professional standards
4. Qualified in clinical, remedial, or sports massage therapy, physiotherapy, or a related field of complementary therapy
5. Comfortable working with clients of all genders, or willing to job-share
6. Strong understanding of client confidentiality, Equal Opportunities, and Vulnerable Adults policies
7. Enhanced DBS check clearance
8. Excellent self-management, reliability, and customer service skills

We will review all applications from week beginning 24/03/25 and will let you know soon after if you have been shortlisted for an interview. We will ask you to provide proof of qualification certificates, insurance and details of two references.
Interviews will be conducted at Chapeltown Community Nursery, week beginning 31/03/25. This will be a chance to meet the In Touch team, ask any questions, and tell us about yourself. We will ask you to give a short demonstration of your massage skills, talk us through a consultation, and answer some questions about your approach to massage therapy.
