Are you interested in working for an award-winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants, but we can guarantee that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling, or positive behavioral support while expanding their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse; Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let us introduce you to the housemates of Burnley House:
1. Peter loves colouring in and watching TV when he is in the house. Some of his favourite programmes and films to watch are Dr Who, James Bond, Karate Kid, and football. Peter also does some great impressions of his heroes off the TV! He enjoys going out to clubs where he loves to sing at karaoke and play bingo. Peter loves to interact with his peers and personal assistants, enjoys 'banter', and has a great sense of humour.
2. Jennifer loves to watch various films and programmes, with Mr Bean being a firm favourite. She enjoys playing with sensory items such as mirrors and fidget sticks and loves looking through magazines. Jennifer is very sociable and loves to be the centre of attention, having cuddles on her terms. She enjoys swimming weekly at the local hydro pool and going for walks with her personal assistants.
3. Abigail is a very content lady who loves music and listens to it all day. She enjoys baths every morning and evening, and when the weather allows, she loves swinging on her swing with music playing. Abigail likes to travel to McDonald's or the local hydro pool, which brings her great joy.
Peter, Jennifer, and Abigail receive support 24/7. Sadly, it’s not always possible for them to enjoy what many people would consider simple pleasures without proper, dedicated support.
That is why the housemates of Burnley House need you! Will you bring your best so that they can live their best life?
If you think you share the same interests and have the commitment, dedication, and above all, desire to support Peter, Jennifer, and Abigail to get the most out of life, then please apply now!
