About the Role:
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join a team as Special Needs Teaching Assistants. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including complex learning disabilities and medical needs. You will support the delivery of tailored educational programmes and provide assistance with personal care where necessary.
You will be required to work across both primary and secondary age groups, assisting students in both classroom settings and on a one-to-one basis. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of children and young people, helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with a variety of special educational needs.
* Assist with personal care requirements, including feeding, toileting, and moving and handling.
* Support teachers in the delivery of tailored educational activities and interventions.
* Help students develop social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
* Adapt to the individual needs of each student, offering support in a positive and engaging manner.
About You:
* Previous experience working with children or adults with special needs is desirable but not essential.
* A patient, empathetic, and caring approach to supporting students with additional needs.
* Flexibility and the ability to work across both primary and secondary age groups as required.
* Ability to work as part of a collaborative team, communicating effectively with staff and students.
* A willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development to enhance your skills.
* A positive and proactive attitude towards students with complex needs.
