MS506 - Multi-Skilled Engineer (4 on 4 off)
Location: Llanidloes, near Newtown
Salary: GBP Competitive per annum
Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a multi-skilled engineer on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out ongoing preventative and emergency maintenance work throughout the sites.
The shifts for this role are on a 4 on 4 off basis, involving 4 x 12 hour days (5:00am - 5:00pm) followed by 4 days off.
Applications from ex-military personnel are encouraged but all applications will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support in the correction, prevention, and elimination of technical problems for the site.
2. Work with production during factory start-up.
3. Ensure adherence to the company's Health, Safety, Environment, Hygiene, and Animal Welfare policies.
4. Manage and close out all equipment failures, work orders, and PPM jobs.
5. Enter data on Holistech for all parts used and jobs raised and completed.
6. Maintain housekeeping of all workshop areas including the stores and ensure that the department is audit-ready at all times.
7. Follow engineering handback procedures.
8. Carry out work to specification and ensure that SHE and food safety standards are met.
9. Meet targets using appropriate technical support in the correction, prevention, and elimination of problems.
10. Exhibit excellent timekeeping, attendance, and adherence to company procedures.
11. Respond promptly and effectively to ensure quick resolution to any issues to minimize downtime, quality, and efficiency problems.
12. Utilize a range of risk assessment techniques to ensure the safety of plant, equipment, and people.
13. Support a culture that enhances behavioral awareness of quality, safety, and the environment, including animal welfare.
14. Demonstrate good behavioral and safety principles in all activities.
15. Strive to reduce costs while ensuring production downtime is kept to a minimum.
16. Be adaptable to any shift pattern deemed necessary for the business.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Good practical skills and a common-sense approach.
2. Ability to work under extreme pressure if an entire production line is shut down, with a willingness to work unsociable hours when required.
3. Self-confidence and ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
4. Understanding of engineering requirements; experience in an FMCG chilled environment preferred.
5. Good aptitude/understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering.
6. A recognized qualification in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
