Role Purpose Our client, a leading supplier in the foodservice industry, operates across Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the Republic of Ireland. They are looking for a proactive Distribution Team Leader to join their team in North Lanarkshire.You will oversee a team of 16 drivers, ensuring efficient distribution operations and maintaining high service standards. This role primarily operates Tuesday Saturday - 9:30am 6:00pm Ideal Candidate: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines Strong communication skills to foster effective team collaboration Self-motivated with the initiative to suggest and implement process improvements Flexible mindset when working with customer and representative deadlines Driven to grow and develop within the role Key Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to Hand-Held Terminal procedures Optimise vehicle routing to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction Manage tachograph analysis and collaborate with the Distribution Manager Ensure vehicle maintenance complies with company procedures Maintain Operator's License compliance Foster and maintain strong relationships with team members Handle customer and sales representative queries Debrief drivers upon their return Monitor and manage cancelled or returned orders and goods Assist with quality control of HR and training files and documentation Ensure timely receipt of outstanding documents from depots and suppliers and resolve any discrepancies Collaborate with the Distribution Manager (ROI/SCO) as needed Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by management Participate in routing on one Sunday every two weeks (approximately) Essential Qualifications: Strong business acumen, with an analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities Solid logistical and analytical expertise Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Proficient in IT with advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Access, VBA), routing software, and Power BI Valid Class C License, DCPC Card, and Digital Tacho Card Eligibility to work full-time in Scotland Desirable Qualifications: A relevant diploma or degree, or a minimum of 3 years of experience in planning or shipping within the industry
