Vacancy for Business Analyst
As a BS&I Business Analyst, you will provide analysis expertise in support of an assigned business portfolio. You will work throughout the project lifecycle, and across a number of products and platforms simultaneously, to ensure that business needs are understood and delivered through technology.

Job Purpose:
Within Innovate UK's Operations group, the Business Systems & Insight (BS&I) Team delivers and manages IT solutions for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Lead and deliver business analysis activity for small to medium sized projects and provide support for large or complex initiatives.
2. Select and apply appropriate tools and techniques to carry out pre-project analysis of business problems and opportunities.
3. Identify business requirements early in the project lifecycle and ensure they are clearly articulated and appropriately documented.
4. Be responsible for business analysis during project delivery. Be an active member of the delivery team, taking responsibility for the identification and elaboration of user and business needs to enable effective design, development and testing.
5. Establish strong relationships with stakeholders within your assigned business portfolio and develop a good working knowledge of their people, processes, information and technology.
6. Work collaboratively with BS&I colleagues in solution architecture, platform delivery and programme management.
7. Develop a good understanding of the Innovate UK technology landscape and be able to advise on opportunities for re-use and adoption.
8. Be an active member of the Business Analysis community, providing support and knowledge sharing to peers.
Person Specification:
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
1. Previous experience in a business analysis or change management role. (S&I)
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - experience of working with a diverse range of stakeholders. (I)
3. Strong problem solving and analytical skills - ability to identify and validate technology requirements and assess suitable solutions. (S&I)
4. Experience of working in a technology focused environment. (S&I)
5. Experienced in establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. (I)
6. Experienced in the development of business cases and/or proposals, including a good understanding of benefits identification and measurement. (S&I)
Desirable:
1. BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis, and/or IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional
2. Experience of working as part of an agile product or project team.
3. Proficient in the use of Jira and Confluence.
4. Prior experience in the financial/banking sector or public sector - specifically the development of public facing digital services.
