The A Side: A Day in The Life
To assist the Senior Management Accountant in delivering the timely, accurate and well-presented results for the Central UK Recorded Music company. Working with our Shared Service centre to maximise the team's efficiency and effectiveness.
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business including, Record Labels, Finance, IT, Commercial, Royalties, Legal and Tax departments.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be financial
1. Preparation of month end financials within corporate deadlines, including all accruals, interface closings, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
2. Responsible for the monthly HFM submission to corporate finance, monthly management pack preparation and variance analysis on cash flow and the P&L.
3. Financial accounting ownership, including assisting statutory accounts team and being the liaison with our external & internal auditors.
4. Assist the Senior Management Accountant in maintaining an effective control framework, including designing and implementing approval mechanisms for both our teams Onshore & Offshore.
Be collaborative:
1. Become a main point of finance support for business departments.
2. Work to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of our offshore shared service centre. Continual process improvement to maximise centralisation.
Be analytical:
1. Provide financial analysis to the Senior Management Accountant and the Group Finance Director and other stakeholders within the group.
Person Specification
1. Recently Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
2. Technically strong accountant with high level of accuracy.
3. Enthusiastic, with interest in working in music; as mentioned ideally with previous experience within a media organization
4. Self-motivated with good organisational and communication skills with a strong attention to detail
5. Previous experience with SAP, SAP Business Object Analysis for Office, BPC & HFM reporting suites
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
7. Advanced knowledge of Excel
8. Genuine interest in systems and system improvements
9. Previous experience in working with outsourced functions
10. Must be willing to travel
