A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Occupational Therapist to work on Beadnell Mother and Baby Unit.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team of a Mother and Baby Unit, with service users and other professionals to support care planning and delivery of care in complex cases for both mother and infant.
We would like to recruit an Occupational Therapist who is flexible, responsive, motivated, well organised and adaptable.
Responsibilities include:
1. To be responsible for the assessment and management of a caseload of service users who present with a variety of complex Occupational Therapy needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health, physical health, neurological conditions, cognitive and/or learning disabilities.
2. In partnership with the service users and carers where appropriate, develop collaborative intervention plans, ensuring regular reviews to monitor progress and adapt as necessary.
3. To consider carer needs and ensure carer and family are involved in care planning where appropriate.
4. To deliver evidenced based Occupational Therapy interventions.
5. Coordinate treatment planning & interventions, reviews and discharge planning.
6. Provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff as delegated by Ward Manager and Specialist Nurse.
7. To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
8. To incorporate a client centred philosophy into clinical practice and client centred collaborative care.
9. To act as an identified deputy in the absence of the Ward Manager and Specialist Nurse.
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
