Job Description Lifecycle Engineer – Safety Flowline Full time Hybrid 3 day on site / Derby Why Rolls-Royce? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Safety Flowline Team within the Engineering Safety Centre. You will lead investigations into emerging Safety Concerns on topics across all of the Civil Large Engines portfolio, working to establish root cause, introduce containment actions and recommend corrective actions on technical topics crossing all systems/sub-systems and through all stages of the product lifecycle. You will be joining a delivery-focused team with a clear mission, advising Chief Engineers directly on the most efficient route to sentencing Safety Concerns and having a real impact on the Safety of our products. You will also have the opportunity to work with Senior Specialists from a number of different functions and prepare and deliver technical communications to platform provider, regulators and internal stakeholders. What you will be doing: Represent the Engineering Safety Centre as Safety Alert Report (SAR) Owner Develop and execute containment and closure plans for safety concerns, identify lessons learnt and formulate the sentencing statements Closely cooperate and coordinate with global project teams, dedicated specialist teams, customers, suppliers and the Airworthiness Office on safety matters Ensure adherence to Safety Process requirements for continued airworthiness, meeting customer expectations and adherence to technical and business requirements specified by the project departments Support appropriate knowledge management within the team and beyond to improve our products and influence future design solutions Actively and continuously identify and drive the implementation of continuous improvements in tools, methods and processes Who we’re looking for: Being a part of Rolls-Royce, you’ll know we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. Engineering degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent professional experience Product knowledge across a wide range of engine components and systems Delivery focus, with an ability to think differently and call on a wide range of problem solving approaches to overcome challenges Familiarity with EASA Regulatory Framework and Certification Compliance Good interpersonal and communication skills towards peers and senior management Preferable experience in leading multi-discipline teams and project management Join us & Make an impact The professional level and the salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate, but is anticipated to be SNBG 7 - 10.
