Teaching Assistant required with effect from May 2025.

Salary: £24,790 (£11,461.56 pro rata)
Salary Grade: Scale 3, point 5
Working Pattern: 20 hours per week (8.30am 12.30pm each day)
Working Hours: Term time only
Start Date: May 2025
Contract Type: Fixed term, temporary contract until August 2026 due to SEN Funding.
The children, staff and Governing Body at St Thomas’ CE VA Primary School, Heaton Chapel are looking for a friendly, dedicated and experienced teaching assistant to support them on their creative learning journey. This role is designed to enhance the excellent educational provision at St. Thomas’ and we welcome applications from people who want to make a difference with the fabulous young people at our school. We are proud of our commitment to the overall wellbeing of our children.
The successful candidate will be involved in assessing and tracking the progression of the pupils and developing positive learning behaviours both within the classroom and in a small group setting.
Are you able to work within and uphold our learning and caring Christian ethos?
Do you have experience of working in Key Stage Two?
Do you have the ability to inspire children and provide high quality learning experiences?
Could you be an excellent classroom practitioner with a deep understanding of how children learn?
Do you have very high expectations of children’s attainment and behaviour?
Are you a constructive team player?
Would you enjoy working both in the classroom and outside the classroom with small groups of children?
