SEMH Learning Support Assistant General support & 1-1 academic interventions SEMH students (ages 4-11) Full-Time (4/5 days a week) Bristol (BS16) Immediate Start Long-term Teachers are proud to be working with a small, special school based in Bristol that are looking for a new LSA to join the team with an immediate start (ideally). The school look after students primarily with SEMH & ASD, so experience in this area is essential. I have a full-time LSA already working at the school long-term who absolutely loves it there, commenting on how tight knit the team are and how well supported they feel. The work is incredibly rewarding as students who are referred to the unit are really in need of individualised support from people who really care. The Role Due to the size of this provision you really do support everywhere Whether this is academic support or support on a personal level outside of the classroom. The role is mostly general LSA work but part of the role is to also lead 1-1 academic interventions, ideally you would have experience of this in a previous role. Due to the needs of the students, it is essential you feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour on a daily basis. You will be expected to: Genuinely care about really helping these students Have experience of working with SEMH/ASD. Feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. Support students on a personal level as well as educational.
