You will be part of our global International Supply Chain (ISC) team as part of the Sea Logistics Business Unit, enabling our customers to optimize their supply chains through Kuehne+Nagel’s Order Management and Sea Transportation Management products. Your primary objective is to turn raw data into actionable insights, enabling customer acquisitions, operational excellence + profit optimization for the Global ISC organization. You will support the modelling of transport capacity utilization, considering complex constraints and objective functions.
Your Role
The role must ensure that all relevant stakeholders within the Kuehne+Nagel organization can access consistent data and insights. The role will also document, train and support transport optimization models into the organization. The role will work very closely within the Sea Logistics SPS team, ISC BD, Engineering and OKAM network and engage with customers, KAM (Key Account Management), CST (Customer Solutions Team) network where need be.
Your Responsibilities
* You will establish a repository of key performance metrics for the global ISC community.
* You will review the KN digital eco-system and create consistency across the different data pools and BO, including standardizing business rules and algorithms.
* You will support the roll out of transport optimization services in ISC, including, but not limited to the DoE (Dynamic Optimization Engine). You will support customer pursuits by modeling businesses rules into the optimization engine, but also ensure the know-how is documented, cascaded and implemented back into the regions.
* You will perform structured discovery processes to identify business challenges + define the scope of required data, models + analysis that drives consistent access to data – both for report, as well as the basis for optimizing.
* You will collaborate with various functions within the organization both in corporate and in region, to understand the best way of acquiring clean data as well as manage the tools, infrastructure + data pipelines needed to bring code to production.
* You will document and cascade, qualify + prioritize business needs into a data + model roadmap to deliver strategic drivers + tailored reports.
* You will perform data investigations + exploratory data analysis on large, complex dataset + apply data modelling along with evaluation strategies to detect patterns + provide predictive analytics.
* You will build, deploy, maintain + optimize Business Rules Engines (BRE) + Decision Management Systems (DMS) to enable prescriptive analytics.
* You will create, test + deploy algorithms, statistical models, analytics as well as custom reports.
* You will collaborate with our Data Visualization Specialist to democratize data sets + storytelling.
* You will regularly review model effectiveness + end user feedback to make programs more effective.the go-to-market strategy for ISC.
Your Skills and Experiences
* Vast experience in similar roles
* Exceptional listening skills that can balance the demands of the customer and business needs within the complexity of a global business
* First Knowledge in mixed-integer optimization problems (lecture, thesis, side project)
* First knowledge of toolsets such as Gurobi, CPLEX or other programming suites for mixed integer problems
* Interest in transport or supply chain optimization
* Good communication skills, ability to make translate complex mathematical models accessible for non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience in forwarding/logistics or related industries essential
* Experience in large scale implementations
* Consultative approach
* Very good verbal and written English skills
