SEND Commissioning Officer (Interim) North London Local Authority Hybrid – 1-2 days per week on-site £400 per day (inside IR35) Initial 3-month contract | Interviews next week | Potential start: 10 th March 2025 A North London Local Authority is seeking an experienced SEND Commissioning Officer for an initial 3-month interim contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the commissioning of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services, ensuring high-quality support for children and young people in the borough. Key Responsibilities: Lead on the commissioning and delivery of SEND services, ensuring alignment with local and national strategies. Support the development of commissioning plans and frameworks to enhance service provision. Provide insight and analysis to inform strategic decision-making – data expertise would be highly beneficial. Work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to drive service improvements. Ensure services are cost-effective, high-quality, and focused on positive outcomes for children and young people. Key Requirements: Proven experience in SEND commissioning within a Local Authority or public sector setting. Strong understanding of SEND policy, legislation, and best practices. Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and utilize data to inform commissioning decisions. Ability to work independently, manage workloads effectively, and engage with stakeholders at all levels. No direct line management responsibilities – this role is focused purely on service commissioning.
