Then an apprenticeship with Westmorland and Furness Council could be for you! The Safe and Strong Communities Strategy team covers a wide range of projects and specialisms around building resilient and empowered communities, including Community Power, poverty alleviation, managing the household support fund grant, grant funding policy, domestic abuse support services, and assets of community value. The team works with a range of partners both within the council and across Westmorland and Furness. We create policy and action plans and work with Council officers and members to deliver them. The role is diverse, interesting, and at times challenging, but a committed and friendly team will support you. You will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge and you will be supported to work independently, but with guidance from the team. As an Associate Project Manager with Westmorland and Furness Council, you will benefit from high-quality training and development opportunities, personalised support from managers and mentors, and the chance to work alongside skilled and experienced staff. This hands-on experience will allow you to gain valuable job-specific knowledge and transferable skills, setting you up for a successful and rewarding career.
Who we are looking for…
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to join our team as apprentices. The ideal candidate will have a good standard of English, Maths, and ICT, and a strong willingness to learn and grow. This should include a minimum of 3 x A Levels (or equivalent Level 3 qualifications) and 5 x GCSE at Grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language. You should be a team player with excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and a positive, flexible attitude. If you’re eager to develop new skills and take responsibility while working in a supportive environment, we would love to hear from you!
