NRL are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Craftsperson to undertake the water system planned preventive maintenance, and testing in Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham on a permanent basis. Salary is based on experience and suitability. \n\n General Overview:\n\nTo undertake the water system planned preventive maintenance, testing, breakdown maintenance and other maintenance related activities to the Estate.\nWorking on a day shift from 0800 — 1600, Mon — Fri.\nThe responsibilities will mainly be at the Acute Hospital but may also include duties at the Retained Estate and Mental Health unit.\nTo undertake any reasonable duties to maintain all services to the NHS Trust(s). To carry out all works in compliance with KPl's.Expectations within the role: -\n\nTo perform the complete range of Mechanical Craftsperson (Water) tasks as required or directed by management.\nTo be knowledgeable of and to work to the current regulations, codes of practice, Health & Safety regulations, and all safety rules both the clients and Statutory.\nTo have a knowledge of water systems within a commercial/healthcare environment and maintenance/ testing activities.\nTo have a knowledge of Legionella and other water pathogens.\nTo have a knowledge of water storage tank cleaning and disinfection.\nTo undertake temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and disinfection, Tank visual inspections, water samples, calorifier visual inspections, T MV servicing, to name a few.
Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings, and specifications appropriate to his/her own trade, without supervision.\nEnsure all PPM work is carried out effectively in compliance with maintenance instructions.\nMaintain records and logbooks, ensuring they are kept up to date and available for inspection. To record information as required for the operation of Maximo or similar system.\nTo assist in ensuring that immediate corrective action is taken in the event of emergencies, so that the Trusts/client needs are met, to avoid danger to people, property, and service provision.\nTo undertake additional and continual training in job skills and techniques that may be required to meet personal and organisational aims.\nTo undertake any other duties as requested by Management, to comply with contact and KPl's.\nTo participate in the appraisal system.\nAfter appropriate training, work off tower scaffolding, MEWP's, ladders, and step ladders and within confined spaces.\nTo be contacted by radio and/or PDA to receive instructions. This can involve frequent disruption to work patterns.Qualifications or Required Experience:\n\nPrevious experience of working within a health care environment (desirable)\nNVQ or C&G Level 2 Heating/Vent/Plumbing\nLegionella/TMV/Disinfection awareness and training\nHTM 04 RP/CP training (desirable)\n\nThe NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
