Salary: £25,469.34 - £26,768.99 per annum (DOE)

Requirements:
* An understanding of the developmental needs (physical, emotional, intellectual, social and educational) of young people.
* Knowledge of child protection issues and procedures.
* Experience working within a team and ability to demonstrate sensitivity and understanding.
* Ability to motivate self and others to meet time and performance goals.
* Capability to deal with emotional stress.
* Flexibility in approach.
* Good interpersonal skills – ability to relate well to others (young people and staff at all levels).
As a Residential Practitioner you will:
* Respond to and meet the identified needs of children/young people as outlined in individual care plans and as agreed with the manager.
* Work in partnership with young people, their families, social workers, and other relevant agencies to meet the needs of young people.
* Ensure that work with children/young people is in keeping with legislative, procedural, and good practice requirements.
* Prioritize the safety and welfare of young people.
* Participate in implementing, monitoring, and reviewing children/young people’s care/health and education plans where appropriate and contribute in planning meetings and reviews as required.
* Understand and be familiar with all relevant legislation, guidance, policies, and procedures in relation to safeguarding young people.
* Promote the development of a comfortable physical environment conducive to good social care practice and in line with standards and guidance.

Acrefield House offers individual personal living spaces for privacy, dignity, and comfort, with shared communal areas to promote interaction, inclusion, and enjoyment. Located in Birkenhead, Acrefield contains 5 bedrooms and supports young people from the ages of 16 to 25 with very complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and mental health issues.
