A Vacancy at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking to recruit a permanent Specialty Doctor to our Adult Eating Disorders Service. The service has three arms - Community, Day Treatment and Inpatient. This post is to provide day treatment and community services.
The Adult Eating Disorders Service is based at the Barberry and is part of the West Midlands Adult Eating Disorder Provider Collaborative. This began in 2020 and has won Highly Commended at the BMJ Value Awards. It has brought the inpatient providers in the region together to collectively manage the inpatient waiting list in the region, but also provides clinical support and advice for the community teams which do not have their own inpatient unit.
Community teams present their patients requiring admission for inpatient or day treatment to the bed management panel each week and where possible they are matched to the closest unit to their home to minimise travel.

• Be an integral part of the inpatient multidisciplinary team
• In conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, service user, carers and other involved agencies develop robust risk assessment and management plans.
• Make referrals to other primary and secondary care colleagues in order to provide seamless care for our service user populatio
It is expected that this post could involve occasional travelling to acute hospitals across Birmingham and Solihull, as well as occasional home visits.
