We are at an exciting time within Urology at UHD and are looking to review and further develop the service. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (Band7 )or Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (Band 6, progressing to Band 7), with a specialist interest in Renal//Adrenal surgery to join our Urology Team.
The successful candidate will be supported with training and education where needed, to fulfil the remit of the role, including the clinical skills and knowledge required to manage the service and to meet the needs of patients with renal/adrenal surgery requirements.
We are looking for individuals who are motivated and can work collaboratively with our team of consultants and highly experienced nurses, to deliver the best outcomes for patients accessing Urology care at UHD.
This role requires an active current registration with relevant professional body
Base Location: Bournemouth & Poole

Work autonomously, using specialist skills & knowledge, independently assess & manage a range of emergency& elective urological conditions.
· Work as part of a highly functioning urology NP & ECP team to transform care for urology patients.
· Be a non-medical prescriber or enthusiastic to be.
· Have a leadership role ,supporting urology on-call, breaking down barriers between medical & ward teams.
· Engage with training, academic & management aspects required to fulfil the role.
· Meet with appropriate urology consultants, review waiting lists & identify priorities.
· Develop a sub-specialist interest & be clinical lead for patients for renal/adrenal surgery incl:
o Work closely alongside cancer nurse specialists to ensure patients are well informed & supported through their surgical pathway.
o Actively contribute to & prioritise a minimally invasive renal & adrenal surgery waiting list, incl pre-assessment.
o Become a specialist in enhanced recovery, with focus on early mobilisation, early identification of post-op complications, improving patient outcomes post surgery & shortening hospital stays.
o Be open & willing to cross cover pelvic surgery ECP with enhanced recovery for cystectomy & bladder instillations.
o Lead & independently manage aspects of post-op follow up for patients for renal/adrenal surgery.
o Be passionate & flexible ensuring the best possible pathway for patients undergoing complex renal / adrenal surgery.

There is a planned move for this service anticipated. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the postholder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute.
