Job Title: Quality Engineer (16-month FTC) Location: Glascoed, South Wales Salary: £42,132 What you’ll be doing\: Ensuring operational compliance to specifications & quality standards e.g. ISO 9001 Driving and supporting targeted Continuous Improvement activities Supporting resolution of quality issues, the internal audit process, and external audits Reviewing Shop Floor Records, technical specifications and drawings, inspecting ‘First Off’ items for Quality Department approval and approving Certificates of Conformity Monitoring and analysing reject data, presenting information to management Energising others to engage in improvement activities, and supporting others in identifying and implementing their own improvements Continually improving operating procedures and the QMS (Quality Management System) Your skills and experiences\: Qualification in an engineering discipline or time served in an engineering discipline - Engineering, Maths or Science degree or equivalent Proven experience within quality management in a manufacturing environment preferably of a similarly highly controlled nature (aerospace, automotive, nuclear, medical devices, etc.) Ability to effectively co-ordinate data collection whenever necessary to inform business decision Demonstrable experience in Continuous Improvement Excellent numeracy and mechanical systems comprehension Benefits\: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
