We are currently recruiting for an experienced Tool Room Engineer, to join our plastic injection moulding client based in Leeds (LS27)
Salary:
35K - 42K per annum
Working Hours:
42hrs over a bi-weekly shift pattern, Monday to Sunday:
Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun (60 hrs)
Week 2: Wed, Thurs (24 hrs)
Purpose of the role
To service and repair our mould tools.
Main duties
* Servicing of our mould tools for their use in the Production department.
* Mould Hot Runner maintenance and testing.
* Disassembly and assembly the moulds.
* Metal polishing.
* Identifying faults and separating what is mould related and process related.
* Address tool breakdowns by identifying the fault and making the best choice to repair to have the tool working in Production as quickly as possible.
Other duties to include:
* Advise on new tooling projects to highlight potential design weaknesses.
* Assist in ensuring adequate stock levels for tooling and consumables are maintained.
* Demonstrate ability to work unsupervised.
* Demonstrate ability to make decisions based on data.
* Use internal software as appropriate to facilitate this role including Q-Pulse, Mattec, Microsoft. This list is non-exhaustive.
* Maintain a high standard of record keeping in accordance with the Company Management Systems.
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times including 5S
* Work with your departmental manager and team members to identify, implement and drive actions for continuous improvement.
* Manufacture of fixtures and spare parts for tooling.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Toolmaking apprenticeship or NVQ 3 in Mechanical Engineering
* Experience in Injection Moulding
* Considerable experience as a Tool Maker / Tooling Engineer
* Previous experience on injection machines
* The applicant ideally would have experience in a manufacturing environment and have the ability to work in a high pressure site.
