Job summary Are you self-motivated, conscientious, and enthusiastic? York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit an individual who is passionate about cancer services, to join the Cancer Information Team based at the York site. The team plays a major part in the overall patient experience, and as a Cancer Pathway Co-ordinator you will be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of cancer patient's journeys. This would be in line with clinical guidance/processes and national directives for cancer performance. While this role does not involve direct patient contact, you will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders (clinical and non-clinical) and multi-disciplinary teams. Therefore excellent effective communication skills are a must to be able to support and progress the cancer patient's pathway. You must have a minimum of 2 years previous administrative experience, ideally with experience of working with databases and understanding data collection processes. Main duties of the job To facilitate and support the timely discussion of patients listed for the cancer MDT meetings. Co-ordinate the administrative pathway of patients of suspected/diagnosed cancers, and when necessary provide a link across specialties and Care Groups. Ensure accurate cancer performance data is captured timely and entered onto the appropriate systems, to meet the minimum dataset required by national directives. To be able to exercise sound judgement in relation to problem solving and identifying situations requiring further advice. Be able to organise and prioritise your own workload to meet the requirements of the role. Be able to work effectively as part of a large team, with a flexible patient centred approach.
