About the role
As Head of Bank Partnerships at Hargreaves Lansdown (HL), you will be accountable for the successful management of our key bank partners across the Savings business. Our bank partners support both our Active Savings and our Cash ISA product line, providing savings accounts for our underlying clients and managing the assets we hold on the savings platform.
This is an important role for the savings business and a pivotal part of our savings leadership team, where you will help drive growth in overall assets and manage the business' key commercial relationships.
What you'll be doing
Developing the Partnerships strategy for the Savings propositions and HLSL, enabling the delivery of the Business strategy through the use and management of our third-party bank partners.
Leading, coaching and developing the team of Partnership Managers within Savings, taking ownership of managing our relationships with our existing bank partners and the acquisition strategy to acquire new bank partners.
Owning the bank onboarding policy and the Ongoing Bank Monitoring programme, which is reported to our Treasury Committee, ensuring we remain compliant with our internal risk controls.
Leading the ongoing application and oversight of processes used by the Partnerships team and ensuring we follow a robust process for choosing a partner, that is compliant with HL policy, law and regulation, and enables HL to deliver its objectives quicker, more profitably or to a higher standard.
Overseeing the information provided to bank partners performing due diligence on HL, ensuring controls are in place and issues are escalated to the appropriate level in line with the risk escalation framework.
Ensuring all third-party relationships utilised by the Savings business have a clearly defined owner and accountable executive.
Leading ongoing governance over our bank partners within Savings, including commercials, KPIs, SLAs, MI production, operational performance and monitoring/escalating emerging risks.
Reviewing and monitoring our revenue from our bank partners, ensuring this meets our overall business KPIs. Driving efficiencies by identifying areas to renegotiate commercials and rationalise the number of bank partners used.
Working with your external network to identify new opportunities that can form part of the future Savings strategy.
About you
Experience in the retail banking sector, ideally in a previous savings platform
Expertise in commercial negotiation and communication skills
Expert knowledge of the savings market
Expert knowledge and experience of relationship management
Collaborative and inclusive team leadership experience
Excellent internal and external stakeholder management
External network of senior Director level stakeholders within the savings industry
Significant experience in negotiations of all shapes and sizes
Demonstrate and embody the HL values, always considering HL's strategy
Ability to understand and operate within business area's risk appetite
Interview process
The interview process will involve two stages, including a technical competency interview, followed by a psychometric assessment, presentation and leadership behaviour based questions.
Working schedule
This is a full time, permanent role covering 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working and flexibility is available and open for discussion. Our office is based in central Bristol, BS1 5HL. Given the nature of the role, meetings with bank partners in London will be required. A minimum of one day in the office per month is encouraged.
